CMUH transplant center is known for the excellent surgical techniques and modifications / innovations in existing techniques to come over the complex situations during the outflow reconstruction of liver allograft.
The center’s techniques are briefly mentioned in our recent review article which can be followed on this link-
World J Transplant. 2015 Dec 24; 5(4): 145–153 [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4689926/]
This center is one of few centers that perform liver allograft hepatic arterial reconstruction using surgical loupes using 8-0 prolene in a continuous fashion. Hepatic arterial thrombosis rate is 1.2% at our center.
The donor hepatectomy technique at CMUH transplant center is unique and has been developed by Prof. Jeng. This technique has been published online and we describe it as Prof. Jeng’s Donor hepatectomy technique [Jeng LB et al. Rooftop and skeletonization technique of hepatic transecton.
